CFB Week 5 - Quick Hit Picks

Since the 6-2 start in week 1, things have evened out a bit.  Looking back at that week, I realized I just had to make picks based on instincts.  There was no data to mine or trends to compare. It got me to thinking maybe I have been just been over-analyzing the more recent picks.  Sure there have been a few games that didn't go my because of that ever pesky variable called turnovers, but that's poker.  Let's see if we can't bring back some of that week 1 magic with some...

Quick Hit Picks

Texas A&M at Arkansas (+2.5, 62.5): I don't like the Aggies going on the road as favorites having just blown a big game. The Pick: Arkansas +2.5

Memphis at Middle Tennessee State (-23.5, 57): Until proven otherwise, I just have to keep riding the money train the Tigers roll through town each week. The Pick: Middle Tennessee State -23.5

Notre Dame at Purdue (+11.5, 48): Call me crazy, but I think people are undervaluing the Irish here.  Purdue has done nothing this year to warrant respect. The Pick: Notre Dame -11.5

Northern Illinois at Central Michigan (+9.5, 60): Here's how this will go down; I'll pick the Huskies and they'll turn the ball over four times, and win by seven.  The Pick: Northern Illinois -9.5

Nevada at Boise State (-27, 60): Kellen Moore should have a field day scoring early and often, but the Broncos have the tendency to put on cruise control once out in front.  The Pick: Boise State -16 1H (Pinnacle)

Arizona at Southern California (-12.5, 57): Arizona has had the misfortune of playing a brutal schedule in their last three (OK St, Stan., & Ore.) and the Trojans have not looked impressive. The Pick: Arizona +12.5

Alabama at Florida (+4, 43.5): I envision a 24-17 final, but I just don't know who comes out on top. The Pick: U 43.5
