Fantasy Football Week 3 - Top 30 Position Rankings (QB / RB / WR)

With two weeks of football in the books we're starting to see who is for real, who might have been overrated and who has the breakout potential.

Until Tom Brady doesn't throw for at least 400 yards and 3 TDs in a game, he'll always top the list. Fun Fact: Brady currently holds a 128 QB Rating to start the season  No other QB has quite shown high level of consistency, except maybe Cam Newton who is undoubtedly the biggest surprise of the season averaging 427 yds/g in his first two contests as a pro.  While I am not ready to anoint Cam, he did manage to crack the top 15 for QBs.

In the running back category, things have panned out about as expected with the exception of Chris Johnson.  He has had a rough start out of the gates (77 yards), and has likely been slowed because of his delay reporting to camp due to the contract issues.  This will be his breakout week as he gets Denver at home and should be able to run for at least 125 yards and a couple TDs.  Fred Jackson has been a big surprise with 229 yards rushing and two TDs.  Granted it has been against the Chiefs and Raiders, but considering he had only 927 yards in 2010, this is a promising start.

The wide receivers in the top 10 remain relatively consistent.  Andre and Calvin will be tough to dethrone from the top spots as they continue to be the most consistent WRs out there, regardless of their match-ups.  Last week was a big one for receivers as 10 players went for at least 126 yards, compared to just four in week one.  Steve Smith is arguably the biggest Cam Newton fan as he has been the lead beneficiary of the rookie's breakout.  Smith has caught 14 balls for 334 yards and two TDs to make him the top receiver in the league.

Since I do release these rankings so early in the week, you will definitely want to follow up on potential injuries that are looming over some players for this week.  That said, if a player is ruled out, just adjust everyone up one spot accordingly.  DO NOT just set your roster and forget about it until Sunday morning.

Here is a list of key players who are dealing with injuries and could be in jeopardy of not playing: M. Vick, T. Romo, A. Foster, H. Nicks, S. Johnson, M. Manningham, D. Bryant, K. Moreno, B. Lloyd, F. Jones. OUT: J. Charles and M. Austin
