Fantasy Football Week 7 - Top 30 Position Rankings (QB / RB / WR)

We're already on the seventh week of the NFL season and there are many new faces lining up at the QB position.  Some are due to injuries: Carson Palmer (Jason Campbell - Broken collarbone), Charlie Whitehurst (Tavaris Jackson - Strained pectoral muscle), and AJ Feely (Sam Bradford -  High ankle sprain).  Some are due to poor performances: Tim Tebow (Kyle Orton - 7 INTs and 77.5 QB Rating), Christian Ponder (Donovan McNabb - 171 yards/game and 4 TDs), John Beck (Rex Grossman - 9 INTs and 66.5 QB rating).  That said, QBs now come with a premium I don't believe we've seen in some time.  Due to bye weeks and the new crop of starters, we see players like Cam Newton break into my top five (#5) and Joe Flacco crack the top 10 (#10).

If you own Frank Gore, you might want to consider putting him out there as trade bait.  His stock his pretty high right now, but it's driven by inflated numbers.  Over his last three games, Gore has averaged 7.86ypc.  I can assure you this isn't very sustainable as he hasn't averaged more than 5ypc for a season more than once in his six previous seasons.  Go after a player like Chris Johnson while his stock is still pretty low.  I still believe he has a strong season ahead of him.

Riddle me this: Roddy White is second in the league in targets (60), eighth in the league in receptions (34), but 24th for yards (373)?  No receiver seems to be doing less with more than Roddy.

The last time the NFL finished a season with a receiver averaging over 100ypg, it was Carolina Panther Steve Smith (101.5ypg) back in 2008.  Currently there are five players averaging greater than the century mark, and guess who is number two on the list?  Steve Smith (112.5ypg)
