NFL + Venture Capital and LA Kings Get Social

The NFL owners have agreed to put together $32 million to start a league venture fund.  It will be interesting to see which directions they go, whether it be mobile, social, or something that is integrated into gameplay like a "football-crossing-the-goaline" tracker.  Any which way, this will surely spring up a whole new crop of sports-focused venture ideas.

As a first order of business the NFL might want to take a peek at what the LA Kings of the NHL are doing.  They've gamified their website to entice fans to check out more content.  Fans can earn badges and trophies which will ultiamtely unlock items such as signed merchandise or private arena tours.
